Description: Schuders is a Walser village laid out as a hillside settlement at an altitude of 1272 m in the Prättigau (Grisons) at the foot of the Rätikon range. From Schiers, Schuders can be reached via a winding road that crosses the Salginatobel Bridge designed by Robert Maillart in 1930. With a width of 1200 m and a height of 600 m, one of the largest slide areas in the Alps is located near Schuders. After a whole part of the village had to be abandoned as early as 1887/88 due to slate slides, there were renewed slides from 1910, which led to faster movements in 1935 and included new, previously unaffected areas. After WWII, the road, which was only built in 1928-1934, had to be relocated several times. The 'Berggasthof Alte Post' is open from the end of May. Schuders, which was once a mining village, now lives mainly from agriculture and summer tourism. Source Wikipedia
